German Beer Available in North America

German beer assortmentGermany’s love affair with beer has existed for more than 1,000 years, spawning many types of brews and flavors. Although the number of breweries has shrunk over the past 50 years from over 3,000 to 1,600, most towns and cities still pride themselves of their local brew. Based on our extensive research, we found over 70 local and regional German beer brands that are available in the United States and Canada and can be purchased at restaurants and retailers across the continent. Due to the arcane and complex system of liquor laws regulating alcohol distribution across North America, we cannot tell you which brand is available in what town or establishment. Contact the importer or venue directly. Please kindly email us if you find a German beer brand we have not listed. And learn more about the history of German beer.
