Angel Cookies – German Christmas Cookies

Small and flavorful, these cookies are an almond lover's delight, sure to become family favorites.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar 50g
  • 5.3 oz plain marzipan 150g
  • 1 small egg
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds 50g
  • 1/2 cup whole blanched almonds 100g
  • 1 egg yolk for coating

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven at 350° F.
  • Combine powdered sugar, marzipan, egg yolk, flour and ground almonds until dough is smooth. Form little round balls.
  • Cut the whole almonds in half, place three halves on each ball, and brush with egg yolk. Place balls on cookie sheet lined with baking parchment.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
