Buckwheat Pancakes (Buchweizenpfannkuchen)

  • 5/8 cups buckwheat flour
  • 1/4 cups white flour
  • 1-2/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 packet yeast
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 egg
  • dash of cinnamon if desired


  • In a large bowl, combine the buckwheat, flour, milk, and yeast. Allow the dough to rise for about 30 minutes. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
  • Heat and lightly grease a griddle or skillet. Make thin pancakes, making sure both sides are browned.
  • Tip: Serve with powdered sugar, your favorite sweet condiment, or even Nutella!
