Chocolate Oatmeal Brownies

American brownies, made with high quality, healthy German white oats and walnuts. The white oats provide great texture and mouth-feel.

  • 7 ounces dark chocolate chips
  • 9 ounces butter (18 tbsp)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • dash vanilla extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup Kölln White Oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt


  • Preheat oven to 300° F. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Cream the butter, sugar, 1 dash of vanilla extract with 4 tbsps. water until light. Add eggs and the chocolate chips.
  • Fold the chopped walnuts into the butter-sugar-mixture together with flour, Kölln White Oats, baking powder and salt.
  • Grease a 13 x 9 inch brownie pan. Evenly pour the dough into the pan and smooth it out. Bake for approx. 70 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let cool for approx. 10 minutes.
