This original German brownie, quick and easy to make, is topped with a delicious roasted coconut cream crust. The moist “brownie” chocolate sheet cake will melt in your mouth. A popular Saxon dessert and snack. All dry ingredients included, just add eggs, butter, sour cream and whipping cream.

It’s easy to make and great fun for children to prepare. All you need is a baking sheet, and this Kathi baking mix kit, which contains all dry ingredients you need: the baking mix, mix for the vanilla cream, coconut sugar flakes and cocoa. The tongue-in-cheek nickname for this East German specialty cake is  “Sägespänekuchen” (sawdust cake), a description of the roasted coconut flake topping. But this cake is everything but dry.
