In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sweet paprika, and baking powder.
Add the grated cheese and cream.
Add the butter in small pieces and knead everything into a smooth dough.
Cover the dough and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 175°C / 350°F.
Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface.
Cut into small shapes, or use a fluted pastry cutter to cut sticks about 1 x 10 cm.
Brush the pastry pieces with egg yolk.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, caraway seeds, or chopped pistachios.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until lightly golden.
Let cool before serving.
